Published a research by the teaching assistant, Professor Muayyad Muhammad Mahmoud, in the Department of Optics Technologies, tagged (Diffraction Analysis of an Elliposidal Wave Front)
In which an expression for diffraction was derived from first principles at an elliptical wavefront, in which the diffraction of spherical and plane wavefronts appears as specific cases of the same thing, where it was shown that the Fresnel half-period regions of the elliptical wavefront depend on the ellipticity of the wavefront.
