Establishment

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology was established at the University of Mesopotamia College in 2010. It aims to graduate qualified technical personnel to work in hospitals and various health centers (conducting routine laboratory analyses, general chemical tests, fluid testing, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, blood bank).

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology occupies a unique scientific position in the academic scientific community locally and regionally and plays an effective and influential applied role in the technical and medical field, thus meeting the needs of society and the requirements of the labor market. The mission of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the University of Mesopotamia College is to develop and maintain a distinguished educational program in the field of medical laboratory technology. Graduates of this department will be well-trained professionals with extensive knowledge, skills and high professional behavior, ready to practice as a qualified professional and able to grow with the future of laboratory medicine.

Objectives The department aims to prepare a generation of specialists who are familiar with the latest modern and advanced methods and techniques necessary in the field of pathological analysis with a study period of four years, after which the graduate obtains a bachelor's degree in pathological analysis and is included in the central appointment like graduates of the Technical Health College/Technical Education and is qualified to work in various governmental and private institutions in the health and education sectors.
